I recently said a flat “no” to an interesting project. The person replied, “I get it, you don’t have the time.” I had the time, yet taking the time to do it would take me away from other things I care about — running a program, consulting, writing.
Wow. I love that it was an interesting project and I love that she said “no.” Even if it is an interesting project or one that excites our passion, if it is taking away from the bigger stuff we care about, then we need to say “No.”
